Listening to residents over the last few years, a number of concerns have been raised time and time again and these include worries about planning decisions and enforcement, concerns about the lack of thoughtful funding that has left pavements barely useable and dangerous to cross, lack of useful or timely bus routes, street lighting deficiencies leaving people afraid to go out after dark, suffering caused by failings in adult and children services and, Windsor being starved of investment and democracy by a Maidenhead focused Administration.
WWRA Plans For Windsor
Given the windfall gain of £3.97m in funding, West Windsor Residents Association’s Councillors Carole Da Costa and Wisdom Da Costa, are therefore proposing a series of budget measures to recharge our town and free Windsorians of all ages to live again.
After listening to residents, WWRA Councillors, Carole & Wisdom DA COSTA, have spent hours with senior RBWM Officers creating a package of proposals to substantially improve the lives of residents including;
- More useable bus services to stop at Foster Avenue and Wolf Lane, restore an hourly bus service to town, and, include a night service from the Town Centre to Clewer & Dedworth – click here for more information
- Reduce trip hazards, improve the conditions of pavements, and install drop kerbs and nine extra crossing points on key Windsor Walkways to allow residents to be able to get from home to school, from shops to surgeries, and back again on foot without fear of injury – click here for more information
- Boosting the ranks of Council enforcement officers in planning, parking, highways, and community wardens to improve the confidence of residents, increase the quality of our built environment, and, reduce eyesores and damage – click here for more information
- Extra early intervention to help the increasing number of children and families in distress to improve life chances, economic productivity and reduce long-term care costs – click here for more information
- Better management of adult social care contracts to ensure vulnerable residents do not suffer unnecessarily, that residents receive value for money, and allow RBWM to claw back costs where possible – click here for more information
Windsor Town Council, Improved Interim Windsor Town Forum, Safer Streets
Separately, we are also calling for a more effective, resident-defined Windsor Town Council whilst we wait 3 years for a possible Windsor Town Council and, review of street lighting practices to reassure residents, and an increase to discounts for Windsorians parking in Windsor.
WWRA Councillors are committed to making Windsor a safer, greener, community-minded town with young and old, rich and financially challenged, residents and businesses, town and the gown all work together all for one and, one for all. A single community.
Please contact us to talk or if you wish to help improve Windsor for you.

Carole Wisdom
