Are you looking for companionship or help around the home?
Are you willing to trade a few hours a week for affordable accommodation?
If the answer is “yes” to either of these questions then Homeshare may be of interest, so read on. Homeshare, a not-for-profit charity, is a way of helping people to help each other. It matches people with different needs, who both have something to offer.
A householder is someone, often an older person, who needs help and/or companionship and has a room for someone to stay in.
A homesharer is someone looking for accommodation and in exchange can offer approximately 10 hours practical support a week such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and gardening – tasks that will be agreed between the two people with support from the Homeshare team.
Homeshare is NOT live-in care, a live-in housekeepr or a simple lodger arrangement. Nursing or personal care (such as help with feeding, toileting or bathing) are NOT part of this agreement.
