Changing the No. 16 bus route has marooned hundreds of residents on Foster Avenue, Wolf Lane, Keeper Farm Close, Poolmams Way, Priors Road, and Washington Drive.
Residents tell us that they can’t even travel to local shops let alone visit the delightful castle or meet up with friends and family.
We want to go further than just restoring accessibility to residents.
We also want to connect residents with the restaurants, pubs, clubs, theatre and entertainment by introducing a night bus from the Town Centre to Clewer & Dedworth.
More fun. More life. A thriving local economy and, a lower carbon footprint.
Proposed WWRA Improvements to Windsor Bus Services
After working with senior RBWM officers, we propose changes to;
- No. 16 Bus Service to return to Foster Avenue to Wolf Lane route to pick up many, many residents from Foster Avenue, Wolf Lane, Keeper Farm Close, Priors Road, Poolmans Way etc..
- No. 2 Bus Service to include up to 2 extra services between 2pm and 5pm to offer hourly services
- 11pm Night Bus Service to allow Windsorians to return to Clewer & Dedworth after a night out in Windsor
Together these will;
- Free older & less mobile residents to breathe in the oxygen of community live even it that is to mooch around local shops or pop into the town centre.
- Allow residents to abandon their cars, congestion, and pollution and get into and out of the town centre more conveniently.
- Allow Windsorians to take advantage of our night-time economy and get back home safe and well, and maybe even have the odd drink or two without worrying about who is the designated driver, or where they will park, and how much that will cost.
- Allow residents to reduce their Carbon footprint and their vehicle operating costs.
- It will also have the power to reduce the Borough’s Carbon Footprint and reduce congestion and pollution on Dedworth Road – pollution which particularly damages the health of young people and vulnerable adults.
