In support of Youth Mental Health Day (19 September) RBWM is highlighting just some of the mental health support and services available to children and young people in the Royal Borough.
This year’s theme is #BeBrave and focuses on helping to give young people the courage and confidence they need to achieve their goals and ambitions, and be the best version of themselves they can be.
RBWM’s Wellbeing Team and Emotional Literacy Support Assistants work with schools in the Royal Borough, alongside parents, carers, guardians, and partner services, to support children with a range of issues including feelings of anxiety. You can learn more about them in a short video.
There’s a wealth of professional guidance from Kooth (for children aged 10+) and the NHS on coping techniques available to parents and young people to help with anxiety.
Frimley Health and Care also has a helpful guide for children to help them manage their mental health. Their Little Blue Book of Sunshine is a great source of reliable, professional guidance.
Mental health support and information for young people is also available on RBWM’s website. Learn more about Youth Mental Health Day and find further support on the Stem4 website.
