As Chairman of the West Windsor Residents Association (WWRA),i have sent my objections to the planning application for two houses on the Wolf Lane play area to RBWM planninf department.
Here is link to the application
This area is an important green space for the local residents and such infilling sets a dangerous precedent for the town.
There is no parking provision, and one would expect any housing to accommodate car ownership. The development will erode play facilities for young children and be detrimental to the locality. This is a totally unsuitable development and out of character with the area.
Impact on children
- Loss of Play Space: Children need safe outdoor spaces to play and develop physically, socially, and emotionally. Taking away a play area can negatively impact their well-being.
- Reduced Physical Activity: Fewer places to play can lead to less physical activity, contributing to childhood obesity and related health issues.
- Social Development: Play areas are important places for children to socialize, learn to share, and develop important social skills.
Community Impact
- Loss of Community Asset: Play areas often serve as a hub for the neighborhood, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
- Property Values: Loss of a play area can potentially decrease property values in the surrounding area.
- Increased Traffic: More housing can lead to increased traffic congestion and parking issues in the neighborhood.
