Councillor Neil Knowles has been elected as Mayor of the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead for the 2023/24 civic year, with Councillor Simon Bond as Deputy Mayor.
He took on the ceremonial, non-political role in May following a vote at the Annual Council meeting, held in the Council Chamber of The Guildhall, Windsor.
He received the robes and chain from former Councillor Christine Bateson, who had served as Mayor since May 2022.
As first citizen of the borough, Councillor Knowles will chair full council meetings and represent the Royal Borough, and its people, at functions both inside and outside of the area, accompanied by his wife Teresa as the Mayoress.
Councillor Simon Bond is the new Deputy Mayor, and his consort is David Armitage.
They take over from the outgoing Deputy Mayor Gary Muir who had been in the role for four years, along with his Deputy Mayoress Caron Muir.
