Who do you trust to deliver a Windsor Town Council ?

Council Leader, Cllr Andrew Johnson recently pronounced his grand strategy on relationships between the Royal Borough and our parishes including Clewer & Dedworth to be incorporated into a vision master plan.

Cllr Johnson has clearly not been listening to a word that Windsorians have said. Perhaps he doesn’t care what Windsorians say after all he did seemingly listen to our petition and even proposed a Windsor Town Council and then he and Cllr Samantha Rayner, and all the Conservative Party, then promptly voted in Council against its creation.

What Windsorians Want – for residents, by residents

Windsorians speak as one. A singular town with a single identity.

Windsorians want their own town council and a large amount of freedom to self-determine key issues around our town.

We don’t want Cllr Johnson’s ill-conceived, poorly constructed, insufficiently inclusive, obfuscating Master Plan.

Windsorians want to develop their own Master Plan that redefines Windsor as we consider it.

Who else knows Windsor better than Windsorians; Town, Gown, Guards, parks and all.

We will not be defined by Maidenhead, Ascot or Datchet Conservatives.Windsorians will determine what we want and then tell whomever is in charge in May 2023.

Resident-led Windsor Town Forum Proposal denied by Cllr S Rayner

Windsorians will propose their own Windsor Town Council but that process is likely to take more than two years before elections for a Windsor Town Council can be held.

Whilst we wait for that process to follow through, I have called for a Joint Task and Finish Group made up of Windsorians and Windsor Town Councillors to define what we want the Windsor Town Forum to look like, what powers it should have and, what budget and funding we want YOU, Councillor Johnson to give us.

I have been chasing the Clerk of the Forum and the new Chair, Samantha Rayner but, as yet, despite agreeing to talk at the last Windsor Town Forum, Conservative Councillor, Samantha Rayner, has refused to discuss the creation of such a powerful residents led group (Task & Finish Group) at the last Windsor Town Forum meeting of the 2022/23 Municipal Year.

Why? What has she got to lose?

She would rather the proposal for such a resident led group be kicked down the road into the future, to the detriment of residents!

If you want a group convened now, please email her at cllrS.rayner@rbwm.gov.uk and let her know your views.

Tell me what you think. Email me cllr.dacosta@rbwm.gov.uk

Accountably yours,

Wisdom
